It’s been a very busy 24-hours on social media, with unexpected explosive revelations, fights, and mayhem.
It all started with a chaotic Instagram live between Makwa and Nota, who were having a back and forth about monies that were stolen and royalty cheques that were owed.
Makwa is one of South Africa’s top producers and has been instrumental in plenty of South African chart-toppers. As a producer he has worked with the likes of AKA, Kwesta, Bucie Dj PH, MFR Soul,~ and many more, he has spoken multiple times of the unfair dynamics of the music industry.

Makwa tells it ALL.
Nota once threw his phone off the window? 😳Nigga doesn’t look well at all.
You can easily tell he’s going through the most. VVIP s/o to The Sobering Podcast for giving him a platform ❤️ pic.twitter.com/HgQLm6ZLk9— YaseB 🇸🇿 (@ThisIsColbert) May 5, 2021

While Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi is Kwesta’s former manager and business partner. He’s been in the news alot in the last few months, mostly for his commentary on the state of the music industry, especially the hip hop fraternity.

Makwa went on further to say that he’s worked with artist DJ Maphorisa, MFR Souls, Ms Cosmo, and Kwesta, who all hadn’t paid him a dime.
The altercation was unexpected as the two had previously agreed they will sort out the claims from SAMRO and SAMPRA.
My heart breaks for these guys. Nota Kwesta Makwa and TLT Amazing 😪 pic.twitter.com/DWxxtu2gHZ

The day after the heated confrontation Nota tweeted that he felt Makwa abused his kindness.
I went to Makwa’s last night. I’m so upset at how he’s abused my kindness, I wash my hands. A grown man with 2 children who won’t take accountability and address those who have taken advantage of him? I have done nothing but fight for him to get what’s his. He’s now on his own… pic.twitter.com/1cWCqawOlx

DJ Maphorisa also decided to go live on Instagram, not only to air out some laundry and also to set the record straight.
As the producer, on Kwesta’s mega-hit song featuring Cassper Nyovest called Ngud, he says he watched as it blew up and changed everyone’s lives.
But he says after Kwesta received his millions, he did not bother coming back to him to pay him at least R50 000 just to show his appreciation.
Dj Maphorisa on Instagram live claiming that Kwesta didn’t pay him for producing “Ngudu”😬😬😬😬😬
He also claims that after producing Ngudu, Kwesta’s career sky rocketed. He also addresses Makwa and Nota. pic.twitter.com/SIZp8b8zvw

Nota has responded to Maphorisa’s claim in a series of Tweets:
Ngud’ changed my life @DjMaphorisa… Changed my whole family’s lives. Song went more than 50 times Platinum. I will always appreciate and pay homage. These guys poisoned Makwa against us, they told him that you’re trying to steal his shine after I brought him to learn from you! https://t.co/ZQdvQuWsVT

I owe you for life for that one. I don’t know what happened to those guys after the fame and some money nyana but they blew it and now they want to make me look like a bad guy. My mother says we must just leave them, I blocked the both. God will punish them. Be still, he is God!
