Celebrity sangoma Gogo Maweni warns people against having multiple sexual partners, saying doing so can negative consequences.
The 37-year old traditional healer says engaging in promiscuous sex can affect someone not just health-wise but spiritually too.
In an interview with Sunday World, Maweni, whose real name is Makgotso Lee-Anne Makopo, says having multiple sexual partners can destroy your chances of
success, as it can bring bad “omens and dark clouds” into your life.
“Sex is very spiritual and people need to understand that if you are sleeping around with different people, chances are they also have people that they sleep with.
When you have sex with someone you become one, and that’s why there’s something called sexual ties, and soul ties.
There will be a point in your life when things start not going well for you, and you end up thinking you have been bewitched. As people, we don’t know or cannot be sure where your partners have been, and what they are doing behind your back.”
Gogo Maweni as quoted from Sunday World
Maweni believes the only way to ward off the bad omens and dark clouds is to perform a cleansing, and says it’s not only women who have to be cleansed but men too.
According to Maweni, having multiple sexual partners is like a sponge absorbing all the liquid and dirt, and cleansing yourself doing particular things is important.
“If you are going to sleep around, it’s important to cleanse yourself so you can avoid bad omens, bad luck or sleep paralysis.
It’s important to cleanse both ways if you have a miscarriage, or you go your separate ways. If you cleanse you need to note that you can’t do it once and forget about it.
You are not fighting a sexual relationship, but many other forces within your life.”
In an interview with Bonolo BeeSting on The Hive, Maweni talked more about her journey with spirituality.
