By: Natasha Archary

Lynn Forbes, the mother of slain rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes has opened up about some of the unhelpful comments people unknowingly make to someone who’s grieving.

In an Instagram post, Lynn shared that there are days she’s a warrior and able to deal with her grief. There are also days that leaves the mom of two feeling like a broken mess.

Almost a month since, her son was gunned down, Lynn Forbes shared what some of the most helpful things are to someone who’s grieving and 5 unhelpful comments.

“Some days I’m a warrior. Some days I’m a broken mess. Most days I’m a bit of both, but everyday I have to be here. Standing. Fighting. Trying.

The most helpful thing anyone has said to me during this painful time was, ‘Whatever you are feeling, and whenever you are feeling it…it’s OKAY.'”
