On the investment in electric cars in the market

“It is basically something that is going to happen, if you look at it in terms of investment, BMW South Africa has just gotten an investment of over R2 billion rands, that gives you an indication of where we are going in terms of electrical vehicles. The investment is for them to upgrade their production line. BMW is currently producing a fully electrical IX, this is an SUV that is fully electrical.” says Dibakoane,

On the performance of these electrical cars

“Depending on the model you buy, you might find that a Tesla outruns the high performance vehicle… it does have power and it depends on what you buy. If you going to buy entry level vehicle to use to go to work everyday you won’t need that power, you just need a car to take you from one point to another.” says Dibakoane,

On the maintenance of the vehicles

“There no maintenance of these vehicles, there is no oil change, there’s no fluid change. The only fluid that you will top off is your windscreen for you wind screen.

“The service for the car will just be an electronics check, through out 8 years, meaning it gives you 5 year warranty, meaning throughout 5 years, the only thing that you will have to do is to change your tyres and brake pads.” says Dibakoane,
