SAPS has started recruiting 10 000 youth between the ages of 18 and 35

SAPS has started recruiting 10 000 youth between the ages of 18 and 35.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has begun the hiring process for the class of 2024/2025, which will train an additional 10,000 recruits between the ages of 18 and 35 to serve in the force.

The statement was made over the weekend at a National Career Expo in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape, by Deputy Minister of Police Cassel Mathale.

As of Saturday, application forms are accessible in the police trainees area of the SAPS website at www.saps.gov.za.

On Monday, applications will also be available at all police stations.

The SAPS has indicated that the basic requirements for enlistment are the following: Be a South African citizen, be in possession of a matric certificate with NO criminal record.

The SAPS is looking for people who have a love for public service, according to General Fannie Masemola, the organization’s national commissioner.

“We are inviting disciplined, upright and passionate candidates who are ready to serve and protect their communities. With more boots on the ground, we aim to enhance and improve our response to emerging crime trends,” General Masemola said.

There are currently 9 000 trainees in academies throughout the country, another 1 000 will be enlisted for training in January 2024 bringing the total number of recruits trained to 10 000 in the 2023/2024 financial year.
