Word on the street is that the world wants him to be 1.83m tall, dark, and dripping with that British sophistication we’ve come to associate with our favorite MI6 agent.
It was just last week that news of Regé-Jean Page not returning in season 2 of Bridgerton broke and already ‘The Duke’ is causing a stir with rumors swirling that he is set to be the next James Bond.
Page shot to fame after his regal role in the period drama series ‘Bridgerton’, and had women the world over ‘swooning’ over his incredibly sharp good looks and sex appeal.
While the series has been picked up for a second season, Page explained that when producers pitched the role to him, it was as a one-season story arc.
This is what appealed to him, knowing it was a limited series.
When asked about the possibility of taking over the reins from Daniel Craig, Page told the Daily Mirror, “Ah. The B-word. I think if you’re British and do anything of note, that people take notice of, then people will start talking about that. It’s fairly normal and I’m flattered to be in the category of Brits that people have noticed.”
He may be downplaying the rumors, waiting for the Bond franchise to make them official or it could just be another smokescreen as other actors have been linked to the role too.
The likes of Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, and Fifty Shades of Grey actor, Jamie Dornan have all been rumored as the Bond.
None have set timelines ablaze quite like Page and people seem to be all for him taking up the role.
007! Your next gig!!
You deserve it; you are a brilliant actor!
I didn’t know of you prior to Bridgerton , but when you came onto the screen, I couldn’t take my eyes off of you! I’m not talking about looks, but your acting! The small movements of your face were incredible!

I am FASCINATED as to the drama behind the scenes, because there is no way this wasn’t an absolute firestorm between agents and producers.
And I’m really looking forward to the announcement that Regé-Jean Page is the new Bond. https://t.co/oZL7RXZkm9

Regé-Jean Page is insanely charismatic and stunningly handsome – I really hope he gets the kind of opportunities that he deserves. And he’d make a brilliant Bond. pic.twitter.com/AlXn5clKkv

Craig hangs up his 007 badge after ‘No Time To Die,’ which is set for an October 2021 release.
Page has coyly mentioned that he doesn’t have any solid plans at the moment and that he has ‘given up on making them.’
The actor has talked about the racial controversy around him not landing the ‘Krypton’ role because he is black and had this to say: “Hearing about these conversations hurts no less now than it did back then. The clarifications almost hurt more [to be honest]. Still just doing my thing. Still, we do the work. We still fly.”
Hearing about these conversations hurts no less now than it did back then. The clarifications almost hurt more tbh.
Still just doing my thing.
Still we do the work.
We still fly.

Where there’s smoke there’s flame and wherever Regè-Jean Page lands next, he’s bound to bring the heat.
