Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi was reportedly hijacked and taken hostage.
According to the South African Intelligence Bureau page on Facebook Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Melusi Buthelezi was abducted and held captive by the assailants while he was traveling through Thokoza on Thursday
Buthelezi joined Pirates at the start of the 2023–24 DStv Premiership season, having previously played for TS Galaxy.
According to Hollywood Bets, Buthelezi has been the victim of hijackings before; in 2022, he and his brother were both stabbed and suffered serious injuries.

The Bureau used its social media platforms to share information about the car Buthelezi was driving, even though they refrained from disclosing the exact time of the incident.
Orlando Pirates has not yet confirmed or denied the incident happened.
